Gilbert Arenas spoke with the Washington Times yesterday and almost the entire conversation as printed speaks to his immaturity.
“If you have a kid that loves basketball, that eats, sleeps, drinks and thinks basketball and all he knows is basketball and he gets hurt and he’s your franchise player, you need to hold him back from himself.”
I encourage you to read the full article at the Washington Times, but the key points here for me are that he is not responsible for listening to his doctors or training staff, and they should have stopped him somehow.
Contrast that with Danny Ainge’s quote about Kevin Garnett’s recovery today.
“”We don’t have bodyguards on him to keep him from working too hard. He’s on the program with the staff.”For all the talk Gilbert likes to do about him being The Man, it’s about time he grew up and became one, and stop disrespecting his employer.
