The Denver Nuggets have been widely touted as a team that will not perform at the same standard as last season. Plenty of media outlets have said this including ESPN in general, Chad Ford, John Hollinger and J.A. Adande. In my pre-season predictions I was prepared to agree with them, but after their first four games I may be ready to believe!
The Nuggets play the New Jersey Nets tonight in what could be a massacre of massive proportions. There’s a realistic chance, if the Nuggets heat up that they could find their way into the NBA record books. The record for the highest team score in regulation is 173, which has been done twice. Once by the 1950 Boston Celtics and then again in 1990 by the Phoenix Suns. I believe the current Nuggets lineup, combined with the inability of the current Nets lineup could be the perfect recipe for such a record attempt.
The New Jersey Nets are just awful and with Melo and Denver firing on all cylinders, the record books could be in for a touch up.
a) It’s in New Jersey… who cares? New Jersey are horrible!
b) JR Smith wasn’t required when Denver hit 17 x 3balls in their last two games
c) I agree… this is the only problem with my theory… Maybe Graham, Carter and/or Afflalo can catch fire late??
I guess they finally put their foot down… AFTER halftime…

I’d agree if:
a) it was in Denver
b) JR Smith wasn’t still suspended
c) The Nuggies had any kind of depth, but they don’t so they’ll pull the foot off the pedal as soon as they are comfortably ahead to rest for the rest of their east coast swing.
They will win comfortably though, that much is banked.
